We will take the south route, which is more frequented. It offers more facilities than the North Route. Also, the summit push is shorter. There is the option to use a snowcat on the summit day to reduce the climb distance. Mount Elbrus is a dormant volcano in the Caucasus Mountains in Southern Russia, only 20 km from the Georgian border. It is the highest mountain of the European continent. Its West summit is 5.642 meters high, the East one is 21 m shorter –5.621 meters. It is the tenth most prominent peak in the world. Climbing Elbrus is not only an amazing and challenging alpinist experience, but it’s an epic cultural experience.
